1. I have activated my user ID but not completed part B of the application, but I received Provisional Registration Certificate, what I need to do?

Provisional  Registration Certificate is issued based on activation at GST Portal, so that your business may not hamper. However, to obtain permanent Registration and GSTIN, you are required to complete all the parts of the application and file it with your DSC/ E-Signature or EVC as the case maybe. Signing of application with Digital Signature or e-signing or EVC can only be done by the authorized signatories. Final Registration Certificate will be issued after approval of the proper officer if you have submitted and electronically verified enrolment form with complete details.

2. I have wrongly mentioned additional place of business, /registration details how this can be addressed?

You can update/correct all the information related to additional place of business, bank account, or registration details given in the application through the process of amendment.

3. I have furnished incorrect jurisdiction how can I correct the same?

It will be updated by the concerned officers at the time of processing your application. Your latest updates will be visible on the dashboard.

4. What is MMI?

MMI stands for Map My India. It is a facility where you can pin your address to the exact location on the map.

5. How can I use the MMI facility while registration?

Type your address in the Locate Your Address field. On typing the address in the Locate your address search bar, you will be given a list of options. Select from the list and click the Confirm button in the pop-up above the pin drop. The pin on the map can also be moved to the appropriate location. Click the Confirm button once the pin has been placed at the correct location.

6. Can I manually enter address in the fields instead of selecting address through Map? 

Yes, the address can be entered manually instead of selecting it through Map. Enter the Pin Code, State, District, City/Town/Village, Locality/Sub Locality, Road/Street, Name of the Premises/ Building, Building/Flat Number, Floor Number and the Nearby Landmark in their respective fields.

7. The address is not being auto populated after selecting it from the map. What should I do?

If the address is not being auto populated, you can enter the address manually. The Disctrict, City, Pin Code, and State should be selected from the auto suggestion. The rest of the fields can be entered manually.

8. Pin code is not fetching the correct address. What needs to be done?

If the pin code is not fetching the correct address, check your internet connect and restart the browser. If the issue still persists, then contact the GSTN_Helpdesk for support.

 

9. Is it mandatory for all the applicants/taxpayers to get Biometric Aadhaar Authentication while applying for GST registration?

No, Biometric Aadhaar Authentication is not mandatory for all applicants/taxpayers. It is mandatory for Normal taxpayers’ based on risk parameters. 
 

10. How will I get the information regarding Biometric Aadhaar Authentication while applying for GST registration?

Once you submit new registration application (REG-01) with the YES option for Aadhar Authentication, then PAN validation will be done with CBDT and once PAN validation is successful, then you will be asked to visit the nearest GST Suvidha Kendra for biometric authentication. You will be communicated through e-mail and SMS with the TRN submission.

11. Is it mandatory for both Partner/Promotor and Primary Authorised Signatory to visit GST Suvidha Kendra for Biometric Aadhaar Authentication? 

Yes it is mandatory. If anyone Promoter/Partner or PAS or both, fails to visit the GSK for getting his/her biometric authentication and document verification, ARN would not be generated that is application will not be considered submitted.
The persons added in the Promoter/Partner tab, will only be required to get their Biometric Authentication done by visiting the designated GSKs and would not be required to get the Document Verification done.
If Promoter/Partner and PAS are same, then, the person will be required to get the Biometric authentication and document verification done (in first time) and Document Verification done (in subsequent applications).
In case any one of Promoter/Partner or PAS or both, visits the GSK but his/her biometric authentication gets failed, or document verification remains incomplete (within time period of 15 days), ARN would not be generated that is application will not be considered submitted.
If your Aadhaar details are not verified within 15 days from submission of Part -B of REG-01, No ARN will be generated.

12. How many days will I get for the Biometric Aadhaar Authentication? What is the validity of the TRN Number?

The validity of the TRN is 15 days from the submission of REG-01. For Biometric Aadhaar Authentication case, if Aadhaar details are verified within 15 days from submission of Part -B of REG-01, ARN will be generated. Otherwise, TRN will be lapsed.

13. By when ARN will be generated after the Biometric Aadhaar Authentication?

IFor Biometric Aadhaar Authentication case, if Aadhaar details are verified within 15 days from submission of Part -B of REG-01, ARN will be generated.
